Plastic-bound SmCo magnets are produced by compression from a mixture of SmCo powder and synthetic resin in molds. Complex shapes can be pressed. The bonded magnets achieve very high shape tolerances, so that a further shaping process can be omitted. Plastic-bound SmCo magnets are very corrosion-resistant. There is no additional coating, because of their isotropy, plastic-bonded magnets can be magnetized in different directions.
